Brandon and Bailey in Year 6 received the award for building a den in the sand pit

Max F in Year 4 and Kunashe in Year 6 received the award for helping to tidy up after build club.

Outside achievements

We shared the following achievements:
Jesna Susan made her Brownie promise, last Friday. She also attained space interest badge  for creating a project with  recycled materials.
Noah completed his level 3 swimming and achieved his 10 metres certificate.
Jaylah, Jaxon and Barry were named as Lexia Superstars.
Isla Grace achieved the following badges at Brownies: Explore Stage 2, Games Master, Birdwatching, Animal Helper, Baking, Kitchen Creations, Mechanic, Collecting, Dancing and Passions.
Charlie W, Year 5, received his level 8 medal and certificate in gymnastics this week.

Jake achieved Water Skills Level 3.
Kyran was named as Gymnast of the Week for improving handstands on the tumble.
Kiera received certificates and a trophy for swimming.
Mason received two certificates for swimming.
Amelia achieved the Rainbow’s Gold Award.

Last Friday, the Year 6 boys played football against Saint Nicholas school. The game was a 2-2 draw and the boys worked brilliantly as a team.

WR in Year 6 and HM in Year 5 received the award for tidying the dressing up, balls and the sandpit, showing excellent initiative.

Mia K achieved her Level 5 Pre Novice Gymnastics Award.

Evelyn received a Bravery Certificate at the doctors surgery.

Robert was awarded Level 6 in pre-novice gymnastics.

Charlie W, Year 5, was named star of the week at gymnastics for his fast progress on his handspring on the vault.

Giselle won a swimming silver medal for 25m breaststroke and achieved personal bests in 50m and 100m for breaststroke and front crawl.

Giselle and Mia B were named as Lexia Superstar.

Millie took part in the British Speed Skating Championship, last weekend. She came 4th in her age category.

Some Year 5 and 6 girls took part in The Great Big Dance Off and received participation award. Well done to Charlotte, Alma, Inaaya,

Gabby, Millie, Cara, LP, RP, Eliza, Scout, Ilaria, Jessica, Laila and Isla.

Arthur achieved Learn to Swim Level 5.

Savannah achieved level 1 in gymnastics.

Isabelle F completed her primary modern exam just before the half term which has resulted in an excellent mark of 86% distinction.

Bruce took part in his first swimming gala at the weekend and he loved it. He did three 25m races and got 2 bronze medals.

Nancy received a certificate for being a Lexia Superstar.

Emmie received a trophy from her dance class.

Olivia scored a hat trick for Tottenham this week for the under 10's and they won 17-3.

Ivy shared the badges she achieved for swimming.

Ally was named Gymnast of the Week for showing determination with connection skills on the vault.

Elsie Rae was named Gymnast of the Week and is been pictured performing on Stevenage Gymnastics Club website.

Amelia was named Gymnast of the Week and achieved Core Level 7.

Match Reports

The Year 5 & 6 Girls’ Football Team enjoyed a fantastic result yesterday with a 4–0 win against St Nicholas Primary School. Goals from Ruby, Grace, Isla and Ilaria secured the victory in what was a brilliant team performance from start to finish. The girls showed great determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the match. This was their first win of the season, and we are incredibly proud of the effort and spirit they continue to show on the pitch, whether they win or lose. Well done to the whole team for representing the school so positively!

The Year 5 and 6 Boys’ Football Team recently played a match against Bedwell Primary School. Although the final score was 3–0, the team represented the school brilliantly and should be very proud of their efforts.

From the very start of the match, the boys showed excellent teamwork, determination and positive attitudes. They worked hard to support one another on the pitch and trying their best to move the ball forward and create scoring opportunities. Throughout the game, the players demonstrated great sportsmanship, encouraging their teammates and never giving up even when the match became challenging.

Arthur, Max D, Max F, Freddie, Iosif, Oliver, Owen, Joshua, Olivia and Bruce in Year 4 received the award for engaging in forest school, building a bucket pond, helping with Build Club and showing excellent OPAL behaviour.

A special mention to George M in Year 2, who was a strong runner-up for the Golden Welly. He showed kindness and responsibility when trying to help his friend.

Leon and Joshua H in Year 3 received the award for tidying up the dressing-up clothes which had been left out by other children.

Sports Report

The Year 5 and 6 girls played in a football tournament this week, taking 4th place. The girls showed determination and teamwork and were a credit to the school.

The Year 5 and 6 boys’ football team played against The Leys. The boys won 4–1, with Leo being named Man of the Match for his fabulous saves in goal.

This was awarded to Leo in Year 3 for reading ‘Ours Brun’ (Brown Bear) in French.

Leo, Daniel and Ali in Year 3, and Lucas in Reception, received the award for playing together nicely.

Golden Broom Award

Year 1 received the award for greater participation, when tidying the wheeled play area.

Outside Achievements

We shared the following achievements:
Jesna Susan attended the Thinking Day craft activity held by Brownies and attained the Guiding Glow Interest Badge.

Oscar and Franco won Joint Parents’ Player at their grassroots match last Saturday. The boys played so well, showcasing their skills together. The boys finished the second quarter 6–2 down but ended up winning 7–6!

Arthur was named Player of the Match for his football team for being great in goal.

Olivia was named Player of the Match for her football team for scoring two goals.

Noah W received Star of the Week in street dance for his excellent timing.

Cara achieved Levels 9 and 10 in swimming. She had to swim a mile!

Millie competed in a skating race at the weekend.

WR received Player of the Match for improving his footwork.

Amelia passed her Core Level 8 in gymnastics.

Bailey won Man of the Match at football. His team won 2–1.

Mia H was one of 50 lucky Hertfordshire Reception pupils to win a signed copy of Elephant Detectives by author Ged Adamson and was invited to Stevenage Library to be presented with her gift.

Sophie earned her Core Level 10 Award in gymnastics.

Archie R and Alfie were named as Lexia Superstars.

The Choir

We are incredibly proud of our Young Voices Choir for their sensational performance at The O2 on Tuesday evening. They rose to the occasion, performing with confidence, energy and enthusiasm. Not only did they sound fantastic, but their behaviour throughout the event was exemplary. They were a real credit to themselves, their families and our school.

Match Report

A huge well done to Radhvi, Leo, Manesu, Max, Leon, Connie and Haris, who competed in the finals of the Rapid Fire Cricket this evening. We did not finish in a medal place; however, the children showed all of our PRIDE learning behaviours throughout. They also demonstrated incredible teamwork, discussing different tactics and how they could support one another. Well done to you all, and a big thank you to Stevenage Sporting Futures.

On Wednesday, the Year 5 and 6 girls’ football team played a home match against Fairlands in only their second game together. Despite facing a very strong and well-organised Fairlands side, the girls demonstrated fantastic determination. Although the final score was 14–0 to Fairlands, the result does not reflect the incredible effort and resilience shown by our team. The girls never gave up; they supported one another throughout the match. We are extremely proud of them and look forward to seeing their continued progress in the matches ahead.

Isla Grace’s story for the BBC 500 Words competition has made it through to the second round. Hers is one of 5,000 stories selected from tens of thousands of entries!
Jake achieved a Rainbow 25m Swim Award.
Emilia took part in her Gymnastics Christmas Showcase, performing in three separate routines. In the awards at the end, Emilia and her partner were awarded the highest group award in Grade 2. This means they amassed the highest aggregate score during all competitions throughout the year.

Over the last six weeks, Bella has been collecting toys and gifts for the Toyshed (in partnership with the Foodshed). She has received over 50 donations which she will be taking to the charity tomorrow. Bella collected the gifts as part of her Charities badge for Brownies – we are incredibly proud of her and she is proud of herself too. Next year, she would like to get "59 gifts for the Toyshed!"
Isla Grace has achieved the following badges at Brownies: Live Smart Stage 2, Influence Stage 2, Guiding Glow, Grow Your Own, Holidays, Celebrations, Mindfulness and Crafts.

A huge well done to our Year 3 and 4 football team, who played their very first match of the season today against a very strong side from The Giles Juniors. They worked incredibly hard from start to finish and showed fantastic teamwork, determination, and spirit throughout the game.
Although the final score was 4–0, we couldn’t be prouder of how they played together and represented our school. Well done, team — this is just the beginning!

Match Reports

A brilliant group of our Year 5s took part in a dodgeball festival all about mastering key skills and learning the rules of the game. Teddy T, Millie, Alma, Barry, Aairah and Harry were absolute stars — showing amazing teamwork as they rotated through skills stations, fun activities and some friendly inter-school matches.
They faced teams from Almond Hill, Woolenwick and Roebuck… and came away undefeated in every game!
Not only did they play brilliantly, but their behaviour and attitude throughout made us incredibly proud. And the cherry on top? We were awarded the School Games Value Award for Self-Belief!

Match Reports
The Year 5 and 6 football team faced Ashtree School on Wednesday in a cup match. The boys demonstrated all the PRIDE values throughout the game. After a hard-fought contest, the score was 1–1 at full time. The match went to penalties, where Ashtree emerged victorious.

Last Saturday, Oscar won Coaches’ Player of the Match. He scored a hat-trick, which he worked so hard for, and the team went on to win the match!
Caiden played against Manchester United at their training ground and scored three goals.
Bruce got back from holiday at 1 a.m. on Saturday and still went to his football match in the morning. He played brilliantly and was awarded both Coaches’ and Parents’ Player of the Match. On Wednesday evening, he joined the U12s training session and was awarded Trainer of the Day.
Freddie completed his first swimming assessment and achieved Alpha Step 2, earning a certificate to celebrate.
Mia H achieved her Duckling 2 Award in swimming.
EJ earned three new badges at Rainbows.

Well done to all the children who took part in the Wicked- Create the Card competition. The standard of the entries was incredible and they have now all been sent off to enter the national competition. The Creative Crew chose their favourite in an anonymous vote and the school winner was Millie, in Year 5.

On Sunday the 4th of October Ruby V completed a 800m run with North Herts Running Club and received her second medal, her time was 5 minutes 13 seconds. She’s very proud and is looking forward to the next event.

Jake M was named man of match by his football team.

Olivia scored 6 goals in her team’s 8-2 win at the weekend and received the coaches player trophy. She also received players’ player at Tottenham training this week. She also completed her first park run and finished first in her category with a time of 10 minutes 10 seconds.

Charlotte’s football team won 4-2 last Saturday with Charlotte scoring 2 goals and getting player of the match. She also performed in a dance show last Sunday, with Alma and Cara.

Last Sunday, Bella ran the Parkrun and achieved a personal best time!

🌟 Outside Achievements

We’re proud to celebrate the following achievements outside of school:

Archie and Willow ran the Vitality Westminster Mile outside Buckingham Palace and received medals. They were part of a Guinness World Record – 2 of 434 runners dressed as superheroes completing the same 1-mile race! Archie also completed a solo run.

Jessie was named Gymnast of the Week for her hard work on handstands onto the vault.

Jael, George M, and LP received certificates as Lexia Super Stars.

Tia was named Gymnast of the Week for her bunny hops on the beam.

Cara attended a swimming gala and earned a medal in every race she entered.

Nasara was awarded Man of the Match at his football club for excellent teamwork.

Amelia received a dancing trophy for mastering all her moves.

A huge well done to our Year 5 and 6 girls who took part in a football tournament at Bedwell School. The team played with determination and teamwork throughout – especially impressive as it was their first time playing together!

Congratulations to: Ruby (Captain & Players’ Player of the Tournament), Ilaria, Jessica, Kunashe, Scout, Darcie, Georgia, Isla, Charlotte, and Alma.

This week Year 1 were recognised as the class with the tidiest classroom.

French Star of the Week


French Stars of the Week are Mrs Flack in Nursery and Charlotte in Year 5. Charlotte showed a good understanding of French numbers above 70. Mrs Flack used her French whilst at a café in France to tell a waitress that it was raining and the waitress moved her to a table inside.

Golden Welly Award

Alma, Aairah, LP and Gabby in Year 5 for planning a mud restaurant picnic for lunchtime today. They have made donuts, cakes and lots of other mud food and got blankets ready to set up.

Golden Broom Award

The children in Year 4 (lead by Emilia) who have been helping to start moving the large loose parts store this week, in play and tidy up time, so that we can make room for a swing.

Outside achievements

We shared the following achievements:
HM, Year 5, was named golfer of the week.
Ace was man of the match and scored 2 goals in the game this weekend.
FT , Year 2, has received a Blue Peter Sports badge. She achieved it for sticking at Gymnastics even though she's been finding the skills really tricky.
Harry and Evie have both passed their core 1 swimming and received certificates at the

Daniel C won players’ player of the match for his team and scored his first goal of the season.
Jamie won his first match with his new team and won managers player of the match and supporters player of the match.
Connie achieved the core level 7 gymnastic award.
Mille competed in an international skating competition in Belgium last weekend. She competed in torrential rain and was the highest rated British skater in her age group, coming 12th overall.
Jax was named star of the week in his swimming class and has moved to a new group.
EJ, Reception, has received her VE Day badge, International Women's Day and her Rainbow Promise broach. She is currently working towards her Reflect (know myself) skills builder badge.
Henry T completed the summer reading challenge at the library.
Oscar won parents player of the Match on Saturday. He has scored at least one goal every match since the start of the season. He should be really proud of himself as he continues to pull of fantastic passes creating brilliant assists.
Noah T performed at The Royal Albert Hall last Sunday with his theatre company. The show was titled 'We're Going to Change the World'.

Sports Report

On Wednesday 24th September, 17 of our Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in an interschool cross country event at Fairlands Valley Park organised by Stevenage Sporting Futures Team. The sunshine made it a perfect day for running, and every single Trotts Hill pupil completed their race — what an achievement! A special shout-out to Dan in Year 5 who came 3rd place in his race — amazing! Well done to all our runners, you did us proud!

Archie in Year 5 received the award for creating a ‘grass castle’ out of grass clippings.

Year 3 received the award for great tidying of the mud kitchen area.

Outside achievements
We shared the following achievements:
Over the summer holidays, Millie competed in numerous races, including the European Cup in Belgium. She became the British track champion for her age group, placing first in all of her races. This year, Millie was also awarded the title of Absolute Champion for her age group, having gained the most points across all three championships.
Leo in Year 5 achieved certificates for coding. He achieved Levels 1–3 and took part in a virtual summer camp.
Elsie-Rae achieved Learn to Swim Award 4.
Alastair achieved Learn to Swim Award 5.
Cooper completed Level 3 Swim Award.
Olivia came second in a football tournament.
Jessica N and her brother ran and walked 60 miles each over the summer holidays. Together, they raised nearly £600 for the Garden House Hospice in memory of their Grandad. They even completed a festival fun run dressed up as a corgi rider and a T-Rex!
Max D completed the Scuba Diving Bubblemaker course, where he learnt about the equipment and scuba diving safety, and then swam and breathed underwater.
Amelia was awarded Gymnast of the Week for increasing her strength, especially when doing bridges.
